As a concept, 'La banda íntima de Martin Frost' was born as a tribute to Paul Auster’s novel 'The Book of Illusions'. Among its other references are the theories of N. Senada and the Cryptic Corporation, but also the work of artists such as Josep Torres Campalans, Nat Tate, Bruno Hat, Naromji, Pierre Brassau, the "disumbracionist" Pavel Jerdanowitch, and, of course, the SPLHCB, as well as Pop Hart’s watercolors and Banksy’s graffiti. Musically, 'La banda íntima de Martin Frost' started out blending the modal expressiveness of traditional music with the raw energy of rock-electric textures, driving rhythms, and a vibe influenced by post-punk and garage rock. Their collaboration with writer, musician, and multidisciplinary artist David Loss on the project 'El fin de algo' (2022) opened up new sonic horizons, adding fresh elements including electronic sounds. Together, they ventured into more atmospheric and experimental territory, featuring contributions from artists like Kike Cardiaco (co-producer) and Miryam Bright ( The Bright, Feroe). Since then, the band has frequently collaborated with a variety of artists, such as Kike Cardiaco (Los Cardiacos) , El Cometa Errante, and NO MORE BEERS, broadening their creative landscape.
